New VIP shipping program...

Starting Friday, March 2, we're offering a new shipping program designed to save money for those of you who are in multiple SG clubs, place extra kit orders, and order sketches books. Here are the details...

Save. Combine. Simplify.
Combine all your monthly clubs and any extra items ordered into one monthly shipment.

What You Pay:
• $10 per month.

• SHIPPING BONUS: If you are in the VIP Shipping Program and spend more than $125 a month, we’ll send your entire shipment for FREE!

What You Get:
• All your monthly clubs and anything else you choose to order shipped to you in one convenient shipment.

Why You Should Join:
• Save money. Depending on your monthly orders, you could be paying more than double the $10 VIP shipping program fee already.  EXAMPLE: if you are in the Super Sketch Club and any other monthly club, you are already paying nearly $12 in shipping...and that’s without any additional online or phone-in orders.
• Combine all your orders. You’ll no longer need to keep track of multiple orders. Let us put them all together so you’ll know exactly when to expect your SG goodies.
• Simplify your shipments and additional orders. You’ll be able to easily add kits, sketch books, and practically anything else by doing one of three things:
    1. Calling (417) 886-0440,
    2. Emailing stacey@scrapbookgeneration.com or
    3. By adding the coupon code “VIP Shipping” to any online order you place. You won’t be charged regular shipping, and we’ll automatically add the items to your monthly shipment. (You must call or email us to initially enroll in the VIP Shipping Program BEFORE you begin using the coupon code.)

How this new program works...

• Participation is 100% optional, and geared towards people who are receiving multiple shipments each month.
• If you DO NOT want to participate, then do nothing. Your shipments and billing will stay exactly the same as they are now.
• However, if you do wish to take advantage of this new shipping program,  get started by calling (417) 886-0440 or by emailing stacey@scrapbookgeneration.com.
• Once you have signed up for VIP Shipping, we’ll take it from there!  Your monthly clubs will continue to bill on their scheduled days, but they will bill without the regular shipping charge.
• The VIP shipping charge of $10 will bill separately on the first of each month. However, if you have spent more than $125 within the month, as an added bonus we won’t charge you shipping at all!  And yes, the monthly kits you are already in will count towards your $125 total each month. (To qualify for the free shipping bonus, all $125 worth of merchandise must ship to the same address.)
• If you stop the VIP Shipping program, you will return to the following regular shipping charges for all shipments:
SUPER SKETCH CLUB - $6.99
OTHER MONTHLY CLUBS - $4.99
ONLINE ORDERS - $4.99
EXTRA ITEMS w/club - $1.99
SPECIAL ORDERS - actual shipping cost

Automatic billing dates...

• Super Sketch Club: 20th of each month
• Generation Page Club, Generation Card Club, Hall of Fame Page Club, Boy Crazy Page Club, Girl Crazy Page Club: 1st of each month
• Shipping Charge: 1st of each month (unless you qualify for FREE shipping)

Shipping dates and other information...
• Your merchandise will be collected from the 2nd of each month until the 1st of the following month. Those items will then ship within the first seven business days of each month.

• If you have provided an email address, you will receive a shipment confirmation email.
• This offer is only available to orders shipped within the United States.

Still have questions?

Monica and Leslie...

Got back late last night from my cousin Monica's funeral in Little Rock. Some of you know that because of a rare virus, she had been paralyzed from the neck down for five and a half years. Monica Keathley was an amazing person, and it's hard to stop thinking about her.

From her two tours as a missionary in Africa to her final work with the Arkansas State Baptist Association, her life was all about witnessing for God. Even when she was in intensive care, unable to move, she insisted on having a sign on the wall where everyone who passed by could see it: "I serve an awesome God."

The most touching part of her funeral service was watching the video of one of her solo performances in the quartet "One Accord," which she founded. Seeing her singing, moving, praising, was a blessing. I'm so happy that she's suffering no more.

The other part of Monica's story is her sister Leslie, who with husband Bob, gave up their 20-year business (a cross stitch and framing store) in Bolivar, their home, and their friends, to move to Little Rock to care for Monica. In all this time, Leslie had only left Monica's side to travel back to Bolivar for her mother's funeral. She will always be a hero in my eyes.

It's been an emotional few days. It's always difficult to understand how someone so good and so faithful can be inflicted with so much pain. For my adult life, Romans 8:28 has been my favorite Scripture. I've been repeating it over and over the past few days.

The latest...

Super Sketch Club...
Unless the delivery guy freaks out when he sees the lobby piled full of boxes, all the Super Sketch Club packages will ship today!

VIP shipping program...
After lots of planning and research, Stacey has worked out all the details, and starting March 2, we'll be offering a new VIP shipping program geared to the people who get multiple shipments from us each month. The program is designed to save you money, combine your shipments, and simplify the process of ordering extra kits and items. Info pages have been sent in the Super Sketch Club boxes, and will also be in the first-of-the-month kits boxes. Later next week, we'll post all the details here on the blog.

March calendar...
The calendar for March has been added to the right sidebar. We'll still be adding in a Tammy Roberts class later, but everything else is pretty much set.

Card Party class...
The ladies attending the Card Party class last night really enjoyed the projects, and new teachers Lindsey Amschler and Amy Roller, along with returning teacher Katrina Hunt, really did a fantastic job. This class is moving to a permanent spot, so expect it to take place the second Thursday of each month from now on. We'll be posting photos of the March projects next week.

Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker Day and National Scrapbooking Day...
We've decided to roll all the fun into one massive celebration! Mark Saturday, May 5 on your calendar, because we're going to combine our semi-annual celebration of local scrapbook company Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker with our annual National Scrapbooking Day hoopla. We'll be sharing details over the next couple of months, but by now, you know the drill! Expect lots of activities, food, and fun.

Extra-special message board comment...

As many of you know, we have an extremely loyal following on several message boards. I've talked before about our "mega-thread" (almost 100,000 views and nearing 3,000 comments) on the Two Peas message board, and there was a super-nice post this week that I asked if I could share here.

Here's what KarenM wrote about Scrapbook Generation products...

"Brought more scrappers to the SG light! I was at a weekend scrap retreat with all my books (they are in two binders sorted by the number of pics on the layouts). Since my last retreat in September two of the girls had bought all the books and one has joined the Super Sketch Club. This past weekend the layouts were flying all over the room and everyone was getting the ordering information so I expect more will be shipping this week. I know for sure one more person is going to join the Super Sketch Club. I got 58 pages done, all with the sketches and love every single one of them. Once people 'get' how these work they are hooked. One of the girls there is a very experienced and talented scrapper. She had never seen them before and didn't really think they would work for her. By the end of the first day she was on her third sketch and used them all weekend. Thank you so much to all the girls at SG. By having the sketches as a jumping off point you have taken (for me) the stressful part out of designing pages. They allow me to focus on paper, embellishments and journaling which make the pages my own. These books have allowed me to enjoy scrapping again!"

And we send that "thanks" right back to Karen and to all the others who share information about our sketches books and our clubs. You are the reason we've been so successful, and the reason our books and kits are used all over the globe. We can't say enough times how much this is appreciated!

Studio G crop this Saturday...

We're hosting another Studio G crop this Saturday, February 25, and you're invited. The crop begins at 10 am and ends at 5 pm. The crop is "no frills," meaning you bring your own snacks and drinks. You can bring a lunch, go out for lunch, or order in pizza or sandwiches.

If you would like to sign up for the Studio G crop, please call 417-886-0440.

Card Party class...final reveal!

Katrina Hunt's card and tag
Lindsey Amschler's card and tag
Amy Roller's card and tag
After great classes last fall, SG's Card Party class restarts in February with the same concept...three teachers, three cards, three tags, three stations, and three totally different approaches to cardmaking.

Today, we're showing you all of the cards and tags that will be part of the class. Katrina Hunt's card and tag, the top photo, are the latest to be revealed. Her projects will show you how to use shape punches to make 3D elements, and also how to use border punches to create fun effects.

Katrina is one of the original Card Party teachers, and in addition to that you'll know her from free classes here at SG and also at Scrap-a-Palooza. She's the leader of the design team for Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker, has been on the design team for The Twinery, and has been a guest blogger for too many companies to mention! Let's just say her work is extremely popular!

This Card Party class takes place Thursday, February 23 at 6 pm. The fee is $15. To sign up, call 417-886-0440. (After this month, we're going to try to keep this class on the second Thursday of the month so that everyone will know when it will be held, instead of jumping around each month to different weeks.)

If you want to enroll in this class, I'd advise doing so quickly...only four of the 20 spots are still open!

Seeking your opinions about shipping...

Stacey put this information on Facebook about an hour ago, and I'm going to share it here in hopes of reaching more people. Please leave comments here, or on her post on Facebook.
SHIPPING POLL: We are in the process of trying to come up with a shipping option that would not only allow you to combine all of your monthly kits, but would also let you add on any additional kits, sketch books, etc. all for a flat fee.

We love that so many of you are in multiple clubs, and are trying to find a solution that would make sense for all of us - one that would save you money, and us... time.

However, there is a possibility that to do this would mean NOT getting an individual shipping notification via email (you would know the exact shipping date each month via Facebook or our blog). I know it's nice to get the individual email, but to do so would substantially delay the day we would be able to ship each month. Thoughts?

Scrapbook Generation is open!

If you feel the need to shop today, we're open for business!

SG is closed today...

Because of the snow, and because of the potential sleet later in the day, we're going to stay home and enjoy a snow day today.

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Weather possibilities...

If we have any snow or ice Monday morning, please be sure to call and see if we are open before you stop by. I'll post here if we'll be closing because of bad weather.

Explanation...

With increasing frequency, when we post our club layouts and other kit layouts here on the blog and on Facebook, we are asked to name the paper collections we used. These requests come via personal emails, blog comments, Facebook posts, and on message boards.

I wanted to let you know that we have a new store policy about not naming the paper collections that we use for our projects. In the past, it was kind of hit or miss...sometimes I listed the paper brand, sometimes not. However, with the jump in popularity of our blog and our kits comes the realization that we need to make a more conscious effort to protect our work product.

We are so fortunate that so many of you purchase our kits. I hope that everyone understands that we're not ignoring these questions out of rudeness, but in a desire to protect our original designs as much as possible in the internet age.

Tammy Roberts February class...

There is so much to love about this piece, titled "Heart and Home." It measures about 6-1/2 x 12-1/2" and even comes with a cute little hanger to attach to it. The vintage goodies include tea-stained fabric, felt, rhinestones, old hymnal print, old book print, vintage lace, mini clothespin, buttons, seam binding and lots of machine stitching as well as some hand stitching. Tammy will do all of the machine stitching for you, and some of the hand stitching!

Tammy has additional descriptions and lots of close-up detail photos on her blog. Click here to check them out. The class is held Tuesday, February 21 at 6 pm, and the fee is $20. Register by calling us at 417-886-0440.

Be our Valentine!

Here's a special invitation to join us Saturday, February 11 and make three free Valentines. You'll be making the three cards shown above...one uses the large border punches that form "chains," one showcases acrylic stamps, and one uses the Epiphany Crafts tool that creates personalized embellishments (we'll be using the heart shape!).

You may drop by any time between 11 am and 4 pm to make the cards. We do ask that you call 417-886-0440 and pre-register so that we know how many people to prepare materials for.

February Card Party class...second new teacher!

After great classes last fall, SG's Card Party class restarts in February with the same concept...three teachers, three cards, three tags, three stations, and three totally different approaches to cardmaking.

Today, we're showing you the card and tag that will be taught by Amy Roller. This is one-third of the projects you'll be making in the class. Amy 's projects are designed using sketches, and she's come up with an inventive variation that allows the card to be displayed so it can be enjoyed by everyone on a desk or countertop!

Many of you will already know Amy through her attendance at SG activities and classes and retreats. Others of you will know the beautiful work she has done as a member of Scrapbook Generation Publishing's Sketch Support Creative Team. Amy makes a super addition to our teaching staff and will bring card sketches to life for you during the Card Party classes.

Later this month, we'll show you Katrina Hunt's cards and tags. She's been at CHA in California helping with the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker booth, and so she'll probably need some "decompression" time!

February club kits...

The photos above are sneak peeks of the February 2012 page and card kits, and you can see the full designs (plus club descriptions and how to become a club member) by clicking here.

These are our five original clubs, and we're experiencing a surge in numbers for them, following the amazing growth of the Super Sketch Club and the fact that more people are aware of what we have to offer.
