Tammy Tutterow's Saturday class...

Guest teacher Tammy Tutterow has shared her project for Saturday, April 30! Above, photos of her Saturday class, the  “Made From Scratch” binder album. The fee for the 10 am class is $40. The binder album features Pink Paislee "Butterfly Garden" papers and embellishments, Wendy Vecchi's new Art Parts, and Tim Holtz Idea-ology items. There are lots of interactive elements and templates for pockets and envelopes.

In order to feature all the new techniques and products involved, this is a lengthy class, at least four hours. There will be a short lunch break at noon, and you can bring a lunch or have something delivered to SG. Class fee is $40.

We're so fortunate to have Tammy visit and share her expertise with us.

Finally!

It's taking many men and many trucks, but it appears that we'll finally look like a store again. Our sign is being moved next door to our new location today, and it's been one of those exhausting messes you sometimes get into. Between the rainy weather and the fact that when the building was remodeled a couple of years ago our sign was "embedded" in about 6 inches of stucco and foam, it has taken extra time (and of course, extra money) to get the job done. Despite all that, can't wait to see the finished look!

Scrapbook Generation's grand re-opening is this Saturday!
We hope you can join us Saturday, April 2 for one of our over-the-top celebrations of all things scrapbooking! We have tons of fun planned for you as we welcome you to SG's new home. We won't have all the remodeling done for this special event, but much has been accomplished since we moved to our new spot, and we're ready to show it to you!

Goodie bags...
The first 300 people who make a purchase of at least $15 will receive a goodie bag with a value of at least $25. The bags contain an SG page kit made from My Mind's Eye papers, a Cosmo Cricket mini-album, and a few other surprises. (This offer is for adults only, one per family.) To help with "crowd control," we'll hand out numbers (like we did at our November 2010 birthday hoopla) so that you don't have to stand in line, although we suspect that some of you get a kick out of that! The advantage to this system is that you can come back and shop at any time during the day and still get your goodie bag!

Golden tickets...

Designers Challenge Club projects for February...
Only four of our 20 Designers Challege Club members brought in projects this month, but they are lovely designs using the "Once Upon a Springtime" collection by Graphic 45. I know you'll enjoy them as much as we have!

Because attendance keeps shrinking at our monthly meetings, and this month was the lightest showing ever, we feel like we need to take a break from this activity. We'll go ahead and hold the scheduled April meeting, but no new packets will be distributed then. After that, we'd love to hear feedback about where to go with Designers Challenge. We would like to start up again in the fall, and possibly tweak the program so that we have a better response each month. Feel free to let us know what would make this activity more "user friendly" for you, because I love the concept of people taking the same supplies and then seeing how many different projects can be created.

March Allison Davis sketch session...lucky thirteen!

Can you believe that you can fit 13 photos on a double-page layout and still have room for an attractive design? It's possible! We'll be making the layout above in the Allison Davis free sketch sessions this Saturday. Your cost to make this layout? Only about $5! Just call us at 417-886-0440 to register for a session at 10 am or 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 26. Bring basic tools, and we'll provide you with a free computer sketch that you can use over and over!

And don't forget, we'll punch your Studio G Reward Card. Don't have one yet? No problem, we'll be happy to get you started on the way to earning some great rewards like free page kits, $20 gift cards, and other goodies!

If you want a kit, the fee is $5, and is due at the time the request is made.

Super Sketch Club members:
Yes, this layout and sketch will be included in your March kit!
Learn to heat emboss...free!
We hope you can join us Thursday, March 24 for a "basic heat embossing" free demo with Candy Colwell. Candy will be demonstrating basic skills and several techniques for heat embossing. After her demo, you can enjoy your own "play time" with the heat gun and embossing powders. You won't be making a specific project, just playing and learning. This free activity starts at 10 am. (It's not necessary to call us to register...we'll see you Thursday morning!)
Good thing I have job security!
Another newsletter, another mistake (or two). As a 25-year newspaper and yearbook adviser who also spent 10 of those years as a school district public information director, much of my life has been spent proofreading. I used to be pretty good at it. Now, not so much! I let a couple of mistakes slip through in the April and May print newsletter that most of you received yesterday.

• National Scrapbooking Day on May 7: the Super-Saver times are correct on the calendar, but in the front-page story, I listed two sets of times, one of which is incorrect. The right times are 10, 11:30, 1, and 2:30.

• Kristi VanDoren's May card class: This class is offered on Saturday, May 14 and Tuesday, May 17. The correct price is $20.

• Candy Colwell's April class, the vintage bunny box: This class is going to start at noon instead of 10 am. That way, you won't have to stop for lunch!

Tammy Tutterow classes...
Obviously, having Tammy back in April as a guest teacher is a popular idea. From the amount of calls and sign-ups we received yesterday for her two classes, they will fill quickly, even with our larger classroom. If you want to attend, I'd advise getting registered as soon as possible.

Update on our grand re-opening activities...
The Super-Saver sessions are almost full for April 2! Of the 160 spots, we have less than 10 left, and they are all in the 3 pm time slot. Of course, there are lots of other great activities during the day, but if you want to attend the Super-Saver, please act quickly.

Friday, March 18, 2011

A few updates...
• There are less than 20 of the 160 spots left for the $9 Super-Saver sessions (we'll be making three double-page layouts) on our grand re-opening day on Saturday, April 2. Call 417-886-0440 to register and claim one of the last few class seats.
• There are only two spots left in the Timeless Treasures class for Monday night. Call to attend or get a kit!
• The April-May newsletters went in the mail today. Some of you may get them on Saturday!
