gearing up for a customer garage sale next week!

I don't know about you, but my scrapping area needs a good going through every once in a while! Yesterday afternoon, I had some time to try to tame the mess I call my craft room, and I ended up with several boxes of items that I'll be selling at the customer (and owner - LOL!) garage sale we'll be hosting here at SG on Friday and Saturday, July 25-26.

One area that needed "thinning" was my Christmas stuff. After I looked through what I had, I realized that I probably wouldn't use some of the collections, so they are headed for the garage sale! Ditto for a whole drawer of (never used) wood-mounted rubber stamps (designs AND alphabets!). Other things are just odds and ends, but it really adds up, and I really enjoyed freeing up some space.

And for those of you who might be interested, Allison and I will both have "designer packs" in the garage sale. We've done quite a few layouts lately -- especially for CREATE magazine -- and we'll have packs of the remainder of some of the collections we've used -- lots of papers, and partial packs of matching die-cuts, stickers, brads, etc.

To join in the selling fun, just call us at 417-886-0440 to reserve your spot. An 8-foot table is $20 and half of an 8-foot table is $10 (plus you get the floor space underneath.) Later, you'll need to stop by SG to pick up an information sheet and the barcode labels for your packs of items.

Set up your stuff during business hours on Wednesday or Thursday, then let the garage sale fun start on Friday and Saturday. Just arrange your products, and then we'll take it from there. Best part? You'll get a store credit at SG, so you'll have a fun shopping spree to look forward to later!

july sketch day two layouts!

Please join us Saturday, July 19 for Saturday sketch sessions by Allison Davis (top layout) and Debbie Sanders (bottom layout).

How it works:
• Pre-register for sessions at 10am or 2pm by calling 417-886-0440 or emailing;
• Bring basic tools and adhesives;
• Receive two free computer sketches;
• Make one double-page layout, your favorite of the two choices;
• Pay for papers used -- the total usually comes to a little over $4.

• To make both layouts, order a duplicate set of paper when you register.
• To purchase the embellishment add-on (shown below), order it when you register. (This embellishment is not used on the layout samples shown above.)

• Purchase kits through SG's online store.
• Not available for shipping or pick-up at SG until Monday, July 21.
• The fee for a kit is $6. Shipping is an additional $6.99.
The best deal for our long-distance customers? Join the monthly Super Sketch Club and get the Super-Saver three layout kit, the Sketch Day One layout kit, and the Sketch Day Two layout kit (materials and sketches for five double-page layouts plus two bonus sketches -- a $24 value) for $20 plus $6.99 shipping.

• To occasionally make both layouts, order a duplicate set of paper from SG's online store.
• To always make both layouts, enroll in "Super Sketch Club Double Up." For an additional $10 per month, receive a duplicate set of materials for the Sketch Day One and Sketch Day Two portions of the club. (You will be able to make both Allison layouts and both Debbie layouts.)

• You can order an embellishment that coordinates with the layouts. The embellishment this week is a $2.99 set of ephemera. This embellishment is not used on the layout samples. (Add-on does not increase your shipping fee!)

Ordering kits and add-on embellishments or enrolling the Super Sketch Club and/or Super Sketch Club Double Up is done at
Scrapbook Generation hosts Saturday crops on the first, second, and third Saturdays of the month.

The crops are the same days as the Super-Saver, Sketch Day One, and Sketch Day Two sessions, so you can attend both crop and class if you want. We have room for both activities at the same time!

Join us for Operation Write Home!

Scrapbook Generation is proud to announce that starting this month, we will be participating in Operation Write Home.

Saturday, July 26, we're inviting area cardmakers to use our classroom crop area to make cards to be donated to this great cause. Scrapbook Generation will provide a goodie bag to all those who participate, and we'll ship the cards made to Operation Write Home.

Operation Write Home is a volunteer group that makes handcrafted greeting cards for service personnel to send back home to family and friends. Over 2,500,000 cards have been sent! This non-profit group has supplied cards to deployed service members since 2007, knowing that nothing compares to a handwritten note from a loved one serving in harm’s way overseas. The organization has grown steadily, now supplying over half a million cards a year; nearly 8,000 boxes have been shipped to over 2,000 deployed units.

“Our mission is to make sure deployed service members can keep in touch with home by providing a steady supply of handmade greeting cards,” said founder and executive director Sandy Allnock.

How you can participate this month:
• Cardmakers who are enrolled in Lindsey Amschler's 11 am card class on July 26 can come early and stay late! You may work/play in the classroom from 10 am until 5 pm.

• Others who would like to join in making the cards for servicemen and servicewomen can also sign up to make cards that day. We'll have room for about 10 additional people. Please call 417-886-0440 to reserve your free spot for this worthwhile project.

Lindsey Amschler card class for July

Lindsey Amschler will teach her monthly card class on Saturday, July 26. There are just a couple of spots left! The class begins at 11 am, and the fee is $15. (Sorry, no kits available.) Call 417-886-0440 to register.
